The border stones between Baden and Württemberg mark the historical border between the Grand Duchy of Baden and the Kingdom of Württemberg. This border ran right through the region and was established by several border treaties in the 19th century. The border stones themselves are often made of sandstone and have inscriptions on both sides, one for Baden and one for Württemberg

The boundary stone of the Grand Duchy of Baden, Kirchhardt, and the Kingdom of Württemberg, Fürfeld, is one of a series of boundary stones that once separated two principalities here.
Where we can now change towns without hindrance, the state borders were once crossed.
In many ways this was serious at the time, for example when prosecuting crimes it was quite possible that one or another crime was not prosecuted in the neighboring state.
The old field name is appropriately called "Beim Fürfelder Zollstock"
Unfortunately the Fürfeld side is very weathered and no inscription is legible.
