In 1137, when the noble knight Raymund entered the Kamp monastery near Kamp-Lintfort, he donated his farm "Gumbretsheim", today's Gommershoven estate, to the abbey. It consisted of 3 ⅓ Hufen (approx. 100 acres) of arable land, 6 acres of land and two shares in the community forest.
