Although the bridge is a busy road bridge, the two-sided footpaths and cycle paths are interesting because of the distant views and the bird's eye view of the river and bank.

And you can take photos of the Koster Bridge very well.
The bike / footpath is wide enough that you can easily pass each other.

On the Bochum side of the Ruhr there is no bike path under the bridge directly on the bank, only on the Hattinger side directly at the Kost. The Koster Bridge connects Hattingen-Welper with Bochum-Stiepel. The Ruhr Valley Cycle Path runs under the Koster Bridge on the Bochum side about 400 meters from the Ruhr.

Nice round: Koster bridge to Bochum, Ruhr down Kastanienallee, bike path to the weir, bridge in Hattingen, Birschelmühle and on the Hattingen side at the mini golf course (small break recommended) back to Kost. Approx. 15 km.
