The classic ascent to the Furka Pass is the eastern one from Realp, as is often the case with the Tour de Suisse. At the end of Realp you pass the entry point to the historic Furkabahn and you can already see the adventurously rising road. It quickly becomes clear that this pass is by no means one of the easy ones, because the lower part of the serpentine can boast double-digit gradient percentages.

Most of the hairpin bends are between 1600 and 2000 meters. The brilliant view into the valley towards Andermatt can be enjoyed again and again, even uphill :-)
