The route leaves the viewpoint of the "prudent king" and begins the second part of the excursion along the itinerary of the Herrería Ecological Path. The panels that mark the start of the thematic route are after the barrier that prevents the passage of vehicles. The next section is a paved track halfway up the slope, without notable changes in altitude, along the northern slope of the Machota Baja.

The posters are on an esplanade on the left gutter, they show the map of the route, the forest ecosystems, the points of interest and the environmental curiosities that will appear along the way. The panels are on the side of the track, there are a total of 23 and they describe the different botanical species, facilitate the interpretation of the landscape, speak of the use of forest resources or draw attention to particular places, such as fountains, old hermitages or the Cave. del Oso, a striking rock formation next to the Dos Hermanos fountain.
