The natural monument "Hohler Stein" (450 m above sea level) is a large, impressive niche with a diameter of 30 m at the upper end of the valley of a small brook blade in the Stuben sandstone. A small waterfall falls 5 m deep into a wide basin in the rock.
The house sandstone formation consists of a layer package that contains harder sandstone layers as well as those with larger, easily rinsed claystone lenses. Sandstones and sandstone slate that are more clay-bound and thus softer also facilitate the formation of niches or caves, as is typical for many blades in this landscape. The ND "Hohler Stein" is particularly impressive in winter when it is adorned with meter-long icicles and the brook turns into a bizarre ice formation. From here a footpath leads up stairs and footbridges, where again cave-like structures form a basin in the high forest.

Great rock arch hidden away from the paved paths. The direct way down here was not to be found at 10 cm snow. The few meters from the forest, it was therefore off-grid.
