Waltroper Hafenbrücke (on the Dortmund-Ems Canal near Waltrop-Leveringhausen)

The half-timbered steel bridge with the number 13 has been running since 1952 with the name Waltroper Hafenbrücke at operating kilometers 10.562 with a span of 48 meters and a width of 8.60 meters along Victorstraße (L645) over the Dortmund-Ems Canal. The operator is the WSA Duisburg-Meiderich. Right next to it is the Waltrop-Leveringhausen security gate.

It is not possible to change the side of the water without having to climb stairs. You can take a 2.7 kilometer detour via Kappelenweg (past the Laurentius-cap Leveringhausen), Schultenstraße, Victorstraße (L645), Mengeder Straße and a footpath.

The safety gate then closes the entire cross-section of the sewer and protects the section on the other side against leakage. Security gates also serve as work closures for draining the canal bridges during inspection and repair.

There are no special rest stops here compared to the rest of the service route.
