In the area of the community Kobern-Gondorf are numerous sources, so-called acidulous, also called sour wells. But only the mineral springs in the lying between Kobern and Winningen Belltal were used commercially from about 1870. The fabrication was discontinued in 1975; since 1912, the building of the shipping and bottling plant has been decaying ever since.
