There is a lot to discover in the small town of Brisen, which belongs to the municipality of Halbe. The circular walk starts at the memorial that was erected for the victims of the two world wars.
The neo-baroque manor house was built nearby between 1910 and 1912 for the Berlin theater entrepreneur Fritz Paul Jentz. It stands on a hill and consists of a plastered building with a mighty central projection. The park was laid out by the Späth tree nursery in Berlin between 1910 and 1930. During the Third Reich it was used as a Nazi convalescent home, then as the Red Army headquarters, as a refugee shelter and as an SED party school. Today the castle is managed by the "Zwei Schlösser e. V." support association, which occasionally organizes parties and balls.
A large hall can be seen in the distance. This is the largest self-supporting hall in the world and was completed in 2002 by the Cargolifter company to build airships in it. After their bankruptcy, a Malaysian company acquired the hall and transformed it into a tropical water world - Tropical Island.
