The Avon Dam sits above Shipley Bridge in quintessential moorland surroundings. Cattle, sheep and Dartmoor ponies can often be seen grazing alongside the reservoir, on the grassy hills that roll up and away.
The dam itself is just as spectacular as the views you can enjoy from it and the Avon Dam Reservoir is vast and beautiful as well. This is a perfect spot for a rest and a bite to eat, particularly as the ascent to it from the south is quite steep in the final section.

산악자전거 라이딩
A nice gentle climb along a smooth tarmac service road to the reservoir here. Perfect for a quick break before heading onto the moors, or free wheeling back down!
