Minster of Our Lady Radolfzell, Radolfzell
Around the year 826, Bishop Radolf of Verona had a church and apartments for his clergy built in the immediate vicinity of an existing settlement, the Cella Ratoldi. Today, the Minster of Our Lady stands on this site and houses the relics of the holy landlords Theopont, Senesius and Zeno. The landlords are greatly revered at the weekly pilgrimage mass and at the annual landlords' festival in July.
The foundation stone of the late Gothic basilica was laid in 1436 and it was completed in 1550. It is a striking landmark of Radolfzell, not only spiritually and as a parish church, but also architecturally and in terms of urban development. At 82m high, the Radolfzell Minster has the highest church tower on Lake Constance.

´´The Radolfzell Minster or Minster of Our Lady in Radolfzell on Lake Constance is a three-nave, eight-bay pillar basilica from the late Gothic period.

Construction began in 1436; There are no remains of the presumably Romanesque predecessor building and the layout of Bishop Radolt of Verona († 847). In 1488 the construction was temporarily completed and the choir was consecrated.

In the years 1510 to 1516 the nave was increased. From 1550 to 1552 the side aisles were vaulted and decorated with Gothic painting in 1554 (visible in the yoke at the rear entrance from the market square). In the minster is the epitaph of the knight Wolf von Homburg from 1567.

In 1713 the nave got a baroque lunette vault. A new high altar also dates from the Baroque period, but this was replaced in 1897 by a neo-Gothic altar by Josef Eberle. Only the baroque altarpiece (Birth of Christ) by Joseph Glyckher can still be found in the Minster. The rosary altar by David Zürn (1648) and the hosts' chapel (around 1750) are also baroque.

The current shape of the tower dates back to 1902/03. With a height of 82 m, it is the tallest church tower on Lake Constance.

The most recent renovation took place between 1982 and 1998. On October 14, 2008, the Radolfzell Minster Building Society was founded to preserve the Minster.
Since December 1, 2009, the cathedral has been shining in a new light at night, for which the French light artist Roland Jéol developed the concept. The light art on this landmark building is part of a new lighting concept for the entire city center.``

There is always a market around it, with numerous stalls.
