      There is a parking lot for hikers directly at the Isarsteg (€ 4 day ticket as of 07/2020). The starting point is worthwhile if you are early enough, because many cyclists also know the parking lot! The Isarsteg is a wonderful entry into the Wilde Isar, because the very first glance into the Alps puts you in the right mood!

                            Sturdy shoes are a must for the Auhütte, on weekends and public holidays the hut is open until 6 p.m. A good snack and delicious cake and Kaiserschmarren are a must. At the top of the hut, the grazing cows with their bells are a wonderful sight and on the way up you walk through the gates past the horses.

                              The Wallgauer Isarsteg, also called the bridge at Gweih, is a pedestrian bridge that leads over the Isar. There are fantastic views on both sides. To the south you can see the impressive Karwendel Mountains.

                                Construction work is currently underway here. Part of the road is closed to truck traffic. The riverbed is being excavated to remove debris. From here, you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Isar River and the surrounding mountains.
