      Württembergische Frottierweberei Lustnau GmbH was a German textile company based in the Lustnau district of Tübingen. Its products were sold under the Egeria brand, which became particularly well-known. At one point, the company was Tübingen's largest industrial employer. The weaving mill was founded on November 29, 1920, by Konrad Hornschuch and Hermann Schweitzer (1884–1961). The two founders purchased a textile company in the then independent municipality of Lustnau, which had been in existence since 1911. The company rebranded and gradually expanded the company. The company initially employed 44 people. The company primarily produced hand and bath towels, with bathrobes added later. In the 1920s and 1930s, the products established themselves, particularly in the high-end segment. Numerous well-known hotels and the express steamer Bremen were equipped with Egeria terry cloth products. With increasing demand, the number of employees also rose to over 500 by the mid-1930s. To employ even more female workers, the company opened a factory kindergarten in 1938, a rare occurrence at the time.

      During World War II, textile production largely ceased because the factory halls had been requisitioned for the production of engines critical to the war effort. The Württembergische Frottierweberei also experienced its heyday during the post-war boom. In the 1950s and 1960s, up to 1,500 workers were employed, including numerous Italian guest workers. They established a bocce court, which is still in operation today, right next to the factory premises. With the decline of the German textile industry, the company, commonly known as Egeria, also encountered financial difficulties. In 1992, bankruptcy proceedings were initiated against Württembergische Frottierweberei Lustnau GmbH, and operations ceased a few years later. The Württembergische Frottierweberei Lustnau GmbH has been defunct since the 1990s, but the Egeria brand name has been retained. It was acquired by a Turkish weaving company. The company founded a subsidiary in Tübingen called "Egeria," whose task is to distribute the products in Europe.
