The parrot bridge leads over the leash. If you look south, you can see on the right hand side the junction of the Schnellen Graben from the Leine to the weir. A passage for all water sports enthusiasts is not possible here. Instead, you can lift your water vehicle out at the jetty and use it again at the wonderful new site at the weir at Schnellen Graben and continue down the river.

The bridge was first built in 1910 as the "Elisabeth Bridge" in wood construction and initially created a connection between the Schnellen Graben and the Maschwiesen. In the vernacular, the originally brightly painted wooden bridge was jokingly referred to as the "parrot bridge". When the bridge was rebuilt from prestressed concrete in 1953, the name was officially adopted.
