If you enter this road from Houtenmolenstraat, you will see a round-shaped piece of meadow behind the house with the glazed tiles. Moreover, it is also spherical. Was there once a wooden mill here or was there a horse mill here, as the name of the street (ruynenberg) might suggest. The name Ruynenbergwegel could indicate a mill that was pulled by a horse or gelding.
The historical circle of Ter Palen refers to “a horse mill along the Ruynenbergwegel, founded around 1676, but which was replaced shortly after 1775 by an ordinary windmill, but then erected on the other side of the Houtenmolenstraat”.

Historic field road, where the Banmolen once stood in the past. According to sources of the Inventory of Immovable Heritage, a circular site would have been marked out on this stretch of the open space in the fields, next to the Veldwegel. With a trained eye or with a little imagination you can see the old ban mill at this location. This was founded by Mr. van Opdorp in 1676. Now it is a quiet and nice location, just outside the center.
