From these sources, on Mount Castelvecchio at 1126 meters above sea level, the Savio river originates and has given its identity to the valley.
It was born with the name of "Fosso Grosso" from Mount Castelvecchio, an offshoot of the Mount Fumaiolo massif, near Montecoronaro.
It then takes the name of "Savio" under the Verghereto hill from the confluence of some streams in the Fosso Grosso ...
In 1974, an iron monument was erected on the place where it was born, on which the image of the wolf, symbol of Montecoronaro, and the rings of the "caveja", symbol of Romagna, stand out.
The area is equipped with tables and chairs.
