The Haschberg is a small mountain in the Vienna Woods that rises between Weidling and Kierling. It has a height of about 400 meters and offers a beautiful view of the Kahlenberg, the Hermannskogel and Klosterneuburg. The Haschberg is a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers who want to enjoy the idyllic landscape and the diverse flora and fauna of the Eichenhain Nature Park. There are several hiking trails that lead to the Haschberg, for example from Weidling on the yellow-marked Adolf Robl Weg or from Kierling on a blue-marked forest path. The Haschberg is also home to Austria's first fruit trail, which was opened in 1978 and shows various old and rare fruit varieties, such as the Maschanzker, a special type of apple. The fruit trail is part of a leisurely Vienna Woods hike that leads from Weidling over the Kammersberg and the Eichenhain. The hike offers many interesting stops, such as the donkey ranch, where you can meet friendly gray animals in a former vineyard, the Adolf Robl Cross, which commemorates a murdered gendarme, or the Windischhütte, where you can enjoy traditional Austrian cuisine.
