A cross towers high here; this small sacred monument dominates the landscape on the Isola di Favignana. It strikes me as a bit like a classic summit cross, something hikers often encounter in the mountains—but here, the visitor's view extends not into the mountains, but to the Mediterranean Sea, which stretches (almost) beneath their feet.

North of Mount Santa Caterina, on this hill stands a cross dedicated to Christ the Savior. The path that leads to the top is easy and pleasant to walk. Once up here, the view that opens before your eyes is simply breathtaking.
