Located directly on the Dümmer and the Olgahafen, this fish shack is the burner of the region around the Dümmer. It's pretty much always busy here. Well, in Corona times that doesn't sound so attractive. But the food is delicious, the ambience is neat and
everything from eel to ice cream is included.
So let's go!

Since our founding in 1968, we at the Aal- & Forellenraucherei Hoffmann have been preparing fresh fish in Altona smoking ovens with beech wood and have been sticking to this traditional smoking craft because this method of preparation, which enables such a unique taste, has not been forgotten may be advised. Although many fish lovers appreciate hot-smoked fish, these days people rarely smoke in the smoke created by an open fire. Computer-controlled, electrically operated gas smoking systems have found their way into most fish smokehouses and only a few Altona ovens are still in use. Only a few still master the traditional smoking craft, as we practice it in the Hoffmann Aal & Trout Smokehouse. It requires a lot of experience and manual work to guarantee our standards of freshness and quality, but for our experienced smokers this is their daily bread, which they earn with passion and dedication. Today, in the Hoffmann eel and trout smokehouse, salmon, mackerel, halibut, char and schillerlocke are still traditionally hot smoked in addition to eel and trout.
