The cemetery was created on June 8, 1944 near Gold Beach, where the 50th British Division landed on June 6.
It has 979 tombs. Most of them, British (630), mainly house soldiers of the 69th British Infantry Brigade. There are also 21 Canadian graves, 1 Australian, 1 Polish and 326 German graves.
