I recommend hiking the All Saints Falls from the bottom to the top; they look more spectacular this way, as you always have the falls in front of you. They are particularly impressive in spring and after prolonged rains; after extended dry periods, they are far less beautiful. In winter, the path, if passable at all, is often icy and not without danger. In summer, it is pleasantly cool here.

According to Wikipedia, "All Saints Waterfalls are the largest natural waterfalls in the northern Black Forest and are located on the district of Oppenau in Baden-Württemberg at about 530 m above sea level. NN. The Grindenbach, the upper reaches of the Lierbach, falls below the Allerheiligen Monastery through a steep porphyry gorge over seven steps, 66 meters in total. Because of the Auskolkungen (Gumpen) under the cataracts the cases are also called Büttensteiner waterfalls or the Sieben Bütten. The surrounding crystalline basement of the northern Black Forest is made up of twig-lattice granite, which tends to cliff formations.

The approximately 100-meter-high walls on both sides of the falls, however, consist of even more resistant porphyry, which runs through the area gangway and is cut here by Grindenbach. The fact that the brook from the 4.5 km² catchment area was strong enough to cut such a deep gorge into the rock is due to the very high annual precipitation totals (around 2000 mm / year) and the large incline to the nearby Upper Rhine plain ,

For centuries the waterfalls belonged to the monastery of All Saints, from whose ruins they are only a few hundred meters away.
