Tip4
More Detail - Switching Between Tours
See Tips 2 & 3
This technique is only necessary if you wish to combine the two or more tours into a single, completed tour.
Check that you have the tours in your Profile. When trying this technique, it's a good idea to practise with tours you are familiar with. To save time join the first tour at a point close to the switch point - maybe less than 1km - and similarly a switch point quite close (about 200 metres) to the tour you intend to join.
To save more time try a dummy run at home. You don't have to ride the tours. Just try switching from the 1st to the 2nd tour and back as described below. Then try it for real.
At the switch point:
a) Stop, but do not finish, the 1st tour.
b) Locate and open the next tour in your Profile. Tap the left pointing chevron at bottom or the equivalent on your device (the back button) to display the Profile button. This part can be tricky - if you cannot switch to your Profile then finish and save the tour in a) and try again from b) - and similar in g).
c) You may be prompted to "Resume Navigation".
d) Select Navigate and follow the usual procedure to start the tour.
e) Select "Retain off grid" if that is displayed.
e) Start navigation.
f) Check that your location along the route of the tour is shown on the map.
g) When completed, stop but do not finish the 2nd tour.
h) Repeat to join another tour or to return to the original tour to continue on that tour.
i) Finish and save the tour.
If you were able to stop without finishing in a) and g) then all parts of the two or more tours should now be saved as a single, continuous tour.
If you practise using the Nature Reserve detour then it may be a good idea to check out the Nature Reserve route in advance. Park in a Haslam Park carpark or the UCLan Arena, cycle to a point on the canal about 200m from bridge 15, start the Haslam Park tour navigation above, head for bridge 15 and navigate through the reserve from bridge 15 to Cottam Lane. From there you can turn right up Cottam Lane back to the canal at bridge 16 or turn left to the Haslam Park Cottam Lane entrance.
