The approaching path from the valley is accompanied in parts by a sunken path. This ravine represented the old route connection between Blankenheim and Nonnenbach, which ran through the forest at this point. At a path spider of five paths is a 1m high grave mound.

Excavations were carried out on this hill in 1932, but did not yield any finds. The shape of this mound is comparable to burial mounds in the area, which are attributed to prehistoric times. We therefore have before us a testimony of early settlement in the region around Blankenheim. The term "Russian grave" is popular, but misleading due to the lack of historical references.
