The Großer and Kleiner Wummsee are located in the north of Brandenburg and their banks border directly on Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Just like the lakes in the neighboring Mecklenburg Lake District, the clear and over 30 meter deep waters are remnants of the last ice age. There are many beautiful swimming spots on the wooded banks.

The Kleiner and Großer Wummsee are nestled directly on the border with Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. The 12-kilometer-long lake circular hiking trail through the Wummsee and Twernsee nature reserve allows you to experience original natural habitats and offers fascinating views of the crystal-clear water areas. In 2021, the circular hiking trail was certified by the German Hiking Association as a quality hiking trail in the “Dream Tour” category.
