Joseph Rock, an Austrian-American botanist, geographer and linguist, worked and lived in Yuhu Village for many years. This is his former residence and now museum.
It is a lovely little museum showing his life and work. Many dozen photos Rock took during his years in Yunnan are on display, so are his articles in National Geographic Magazine and other publications. They illustrate the life in this region in the 1920s and 30s.
Everything is in Chinese and English.
