On the Eixer Hauptstraße there is a simple little church with a roof turret for the bell. In 1996 she celebrated her 300th birthday. Before the Reformation, the Eixer may have visited the Vöhrum church. According to old tradition, Eixer farmers were involved in the filling of the Vöhrum church hill. Due to the political turmoil between the then Principality of Hildesheim (which included Peine and Vöhrum) and the Duchy of Lüneburg - Celle, Eixe came to the side of the "Heidjer" and was thus separated from Vöhrum by an international state border and was assigned to Edemissen by the church. Since the way to Edemissen was too far for the "old and the weak", the chapel was finally built in the village. This happened in 1696. For more than 150 years, the school teacher held a reading service every Sunday afternoon and taught the children catechism. The Edemiss pastor came annually for a communion service. Otherwise, the people of Eixer went to Edemissen for baptisms and weddings and for normal main services. Even burials took place there until around 1812 a separate cemetery was laid out next to the chapel.
In 1856, at Eixer's request, the town was detached from the association with Edemissen and united with the Vöhrum parish. On this occasion, the small Eixe even became an independent parish. For this occasion, the length of the church was extended. However, the walls of the half-timbered building at that time were massively lined and plastered in this century. The interior is simply designed, the altar shows a carved depiction of the Last Supper from this century. In the weeks from Ash Wednesday to Easter, a passion altar by Horst Dalberg will be set up.
