Grenspark De Kempen is a vast nature reserve on the border between the Netherlands and Belgium, where forests, heathlands, and old farmlands alternate. The area has a tranquil, almost timeless atmosphere: wide sandy paths, quiet pine forests, open plains, and heathland that turns purple in summer.

Throughout the centuries, this border region was a place where smuggling routes, ancient trade routes, and boundary markers defined the landscape. Much of that history is still visible today, for example, in the old boundary stones and the straight paths once constructed for military surveillance.

The area is now protected and forms one of the largest contiguous nature reserves in the region. You'll find abundant wildlife there, such as deer, birds of prey, and in wetter areas, even salamanders and frogs. It's an ideal walking area for those seeking tranquility, as large parts of Grenspark De Kempen have remained remarkably empty and untouched.
