        The church Beatae Mariae Virginis zu Hornburg is the oldest evangelical church building in the Brunswick region. It was built by Paul Francke after the model of the main church BMV in Wolfenbüttel. In its simpler construction compared to Wolfenbüttel, the Hornburg church represents the "bourgeois" type of an early Protestant sermon church. The furnishings of the church are of national importance, in particular the altar and the pulpit, not least the baroque wall paintings, which have been uncovered again and are extremely rare in northern Germany. The artistic, nine-part baroque organ brochure is of outstanding importance. The showpiece, decorated with large angel figures and magnificent acanthus leaves, was created in 1707 by the Hornburg master carpenter Georg Froböse (1666-1722) for an organ built in 1710. Unique in Germany are the five angel figures in the organ brochure, which symbolically play their instruments as soon as the organ begins to make music.

            The church is known under the name Beatae Mariae Virginis Hornburg and belongs to the Protestant parish Hornburg / Isingerode.

                The Evangelical Marienkirche in the town of Hornburg in the municipality of Schladen-Werla is a post-Gothic hall church in the district of Wolfenbüttel in Lower Saxony.
                It belongs to the Hornburg/Isingerode evangelical parish of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Braunschweig and is also known as the Church of Beatae Mariae Virginis Hornburg.
