I am surrounded by the "Albvereinshütte"
Biotopes and a very beautiful landscape.
Biotopes and water points are a rarity on the Alb plateau. They were sealed with clay by the land consolidation in 1985, unfortunately they could not withstand the severe frost and the roots of the grass and slowly began to leak.
Later several ponds from the Albverein-Nellingen were sealed with a foil. Four dry and wet biotopes are owned by the municipality of Nellingen and are looked after, nurtured and cared for with a lot of love by the Alb Association. They are a fascinating habitat and often the only spawning opportunity for amphibians, such as newts and various toad species, and many dragonflies can also be seen here.
In the Geggenbuch you can often find migratory birds and ducks.
But now to me, I am the heart of the Nellinger-Albverein, I live at Römerstrasse 500 on the edge of the school forest, they call me “Schulwaldhütte”. I've been standing here since 1971 and served the students as weather protection as long as they reforested the school forest. Later I was a tool shed for the forest workers and was then gradually converted into the "Albvereinshütte". In 2013 I even got a new toilet facility and it became much brighter, bigger and more beautiful.
