    An inconspicuous cave on the other side of the Laubenbach. Unfortunately, the sign can only be seen after you have disturbed the bats.
    But the inscription is worth reading:
    This grid protects biodiversity!
    and no gold
    no diamonds,
    no mithrill,
    no vase from the Ming Dynasty,
    and not even a pokemon ....
    ... but us Bechstein's bats!

    If you disturb us, we will die!

      Most of the slate tunnels are now closed with an iron grille to protect the bats. If you want to take a closer look at one of these, you can do this about 1.5 km north of here:

            The Wispertalsteig circles the high altitude health resort in a large arc with several loops. Deeply carved valleys, enchanted forests, disused slate tunnels and fascinating distant views provide constant variety on the way. If you want, you can break off the tour on the Mehrholzer Höhe halfway and stroll back to the village.
            The entire route is well signposted and is a good 15.5km long, which can be done in about hours! Whoever thinks about the way back on the Mehrholzer Höhe will cover a total of 7.5 km!
            You can park in place! There is an extra parking lot right on the route!
