Tauritzmühle is a district of the municipality of Speichersdorf in the middle Fichtelgebirge and lies between the towns of Göppmannsbühl and Tressau.
It mainly consists of a former mill, a hiking shelter with an outbuilding and a rock cellar. The owner of the entire area is the Speicherersdorf local group of the Fichtelgebirgsverein. The Tauritzmühle is managed throughout. Traditionally, church fairs, solstice celebrations, international porcelain meetings, hiking days and church services take place in the Tauritzmühle, which is visited by hikers and cyclists. In the mill, bread is regularly baked in a stone oven.
In the local area, next to the mill, there is an 8.64 hectare wetland with orchids, which was acquired by the Speichersdorfer Fichtelgebirgsverein local group in 1978 and is looked after by him. The protected area is accessible through a nature trail.
On September 24, 2011, the Bavarian Environment Minister Markus Söder awarded a certificate of honor for green spaces for encounters and experiences. The award recognizes the exemplary achievements for nature and the quality of life in populated areas.
