The tram depot (Wiebehallen) was built in 1899 according to plans by Joseph Fischer Dick and remodeled by Jean Krämer in the 1920s. After the tram service was discontinued in West Berlin in the mid-1960s, the halls stood empty and fell into disrepair.
In 2002, the City of Berlin sold the tram depot to its current owner. The Classic Remise Berlin was restored and remodeled according to plans by the architects Dinse-Feest-Zurl. The Classic Remise opened in May 2003.
