The Heilbronn forest adventure trail has been around since 1970. During the European year of nature conservation, it was created as a "forest educational trail" by a working group of hiking clubs, foresters and teachers with the support of the city of Heilbronn and the forestry office. In recent years, 22 new stations have been added, many of them experience-oriented, and so the trail was renamed the "Heilbronn forest adventure trail".
