The Bärenbach, which is also the namesake of the Traumschleife, forms part of the border to the district of Kusel. The hiking trail follows the Bärenbach, the source of which is a little south-east of the Breitsesterhof, to its confluence with the Auersbach. Streams naturally show a variety of courses, in small forms from the headwaters, to almost standing sections with backwater zones and waterfalls or swamp sections, to seepage where the water dives underground and continues to flow there or loses itself in the groundwater. Flow velocity is affected by rocks, deadwood and smaller islands, narrowings, shallow areas or local depressions. Streams are characterized in particular by the fact that the water level rises or falls, the substrates contained in the stream shift and the course of the stream changes over time. The Bärenbach has also changed over the years. Source: text information board
