    The museum is worth a visit at any time of the year. Flat, good paths, all houses are accessible, history and current events are easily conveyed. There are many seating options (benches, groups of tables), but also a spacious area where you can spread blankets. Everywhere there are very friendly employees, farm animals to look at (and touch) and demonstrations (forge, spinning, basket weaving).

          When you walk through the museum, you can relive 700 years of everyday Franconian history. There are currently 125 buildings, including farms, mills, sheep farms, craftsmen's houses, barns, breweries, bakeries, a schoolhouse, an administrative building and a summer palace. There is a lot to discover and you can clearly see how Franconia's rural population lived, worked and built in earlier times.
          The buildings are arranged in seven groups, mostly by region, but also by theme.

            Very nice and well-kept facility. Extensive grounds, ideal as a day trip for the whole family. The physical well-being is taken care of, the children get their money's worth and those interested in history will find enough information about the settlement houses.
