Ernst Seifert actually came from a small family of weavers in Mülsen near Zwickau. After the First World War he went to the growing textile town of Glauchau and founded "Textilwerke Ernst Seifert GmbH" here in 1920. Within a very short time, the company achieved great fame and established worldwide business relationships. The reflection of the growth is undoubtedly the new factory building near the Glauchau train station. In 1928, a magnificent neoclassical main building with adjoining production halls with a shed roof was built. Several stylistic elements in the façade indicate the economic influence of the 'Ernst Seifert' weaving mill. A veritable palace of industry has emerged. By the Second World War, 1,200 employees worked in the weaving mill and weaved high-quality clothing fabrics on around 500 looms. With the nationalization, the events overturn. In May 1948 Ernst Seifert and his family had to leave the factory and his homeland overnight......
