The Bab Al Bahrain, which guards the entrance to the Manama Suq in the capital Manama, was built in 1949. The imposing building, which overlooks the sea, was once the seat of the government administration. However, today it only houses the tourism sector offices and a visitor center where visitors can learn more about the region's history and find all the great things to do in Bab Al Bahrain.
Since then, Bab Al Bahrain has seen many changes and renovations.
Recently, the Ministry of Culture initiated a project to preserve the Bab al Bahrain as a cultural landmark. Now the building shines in all its historic glory and its magnificent architecture stands out. No tour in Bahrain would be complete without visiting it!
