Framed by the rivers "Best" and "Trave" Bad Oldesloe lies in the middle of the picturesque hill country of Schleswig-Holstein. The perfect connection via the modern traffic routes is not only the springboard to the region. East and North Sea, ports and airports or the cultural highlights of the Hanseatic cities can be reached in a few minutes.

Bad Oldesloe and its surroundings are known as a unique and versatile recreational area, with numerous water, cycling and hiking trails that invite explorers to explore. Right on the northwestern edge of the city lies the largest inland salt marsh in Schleswig-Holstein, the 24-hectare Brenner Moor. A trip to the surrounding area is also worth a visit to the surrounding manor houses and castles such as the "Blumendorf Castle" or the Benedictine Monastery in Nütschau, which was built in 1577 as a mansion. For Mennonites from all over the world, a visit to the Mennokate Museum is an interesting excursion destination.
