The old castle in one of the two free courtyards must have stood near the entrance to the town, either in the current courtyard garden on Wallstrasse behind the Sorbian outer wall or between Wallstrasse, Querstrasse and the churchyard. The current castle was originally built as a one-wing manor house (residential building). Many documents often mention a second mansion, but it is not always certain which mansion we are talking about: the old mansion or the new mansion?

Above the tower portal of the castle you can read - Built in 1891 by Hubert, Fr. This created the prerequisites for adding an east wing to the one-wing manor house and creating an opening into the emerging park. A door was built on the southeast corner to provide access to the park and a sun porch. With the addition of the west wing in 1937, the former single-wing mansion developed into a three-wing castle. The castle and lodging house were separated from the estate by a wall. Only one door and a wrought iron gate with a door led to the courtyard. From the castle and lodging house you could go directly into the park, which was created in the last quarter of the century when the ramparts were included on the swampy meadows and huts of the Fuhne lowlands.
