Free zoo with roundabout past various red deer, deer, alpacas, goats, rabbits, sheep, wild boars, donkeys, squirrels, ducks, geese, peacocks and I've certainly forgotten animals 😂

The municipality of Weeze operates a small zoo around the Hertefeld Castle ruins, which primarily houses native animals and domesticated species.

Under the old avenue along the Niers floodplain, there are also waterfowl ponds and aviaries with ornamental birds, which are cared for by a bird breeding association.

In recent years, the zoo has been significantly modernized under new management. New stables have been built, fences and stables have been renovated, and new species, llamas and donkeys, have been added.
