So we were able to visit the church today without any problems - the door was wide open! Inside, the rather plain, white interior reminiscent of a ship, ship models and a huge organ on the gallery made an impression. We liked it very much!

The church is the first church built directly in the district of Blankenese itself. Before its construction Blankenese was looked after by Nienstedten, originally it belonged also to the appropriate Kirchspiel. The architect Ernst Ehrhardt built the church from 1895 to 1896 as a pilaster church with a cross-shaped floor plan and a single tower. On the crossing is also a small roof rider. The brick facades are reserved in the sense of the "Hannover School" designed, but still have many typical neo-Gothic details and references to the brick Gothic.
