Many legends and stories are entwined around Oelber Castle on the white path, which was first mentioned in the feudal register in 1226. The additional marking "on the white path" goes back to a historical lime removal plant, on the transport road of which white traces of lime marked the path.

The castle has been owned by the von Cramm family since the early Middle Ages. The building is remarkable in many respects: the round ground plan of the castle dates back to the 12th century, around 1580 the conversions were made that give the castle its current appearance. Today the visitor finds a medieval rotunda with a Renaissance facade. The Renaissance portal of the south-facing gatehouse is particularly impressive. In the 19th century, a stud farm was also built, in whose "old" horse boxes many events of Oelber Event take place today.
