The initial construction dates back to the end of the 12th century. The castle was in the possession of the Malatesta family from 1356 until the end of 1400, a period in which it carried out its defensive functions with the addition of a double wall, the tower, the double entrance arch and the moat.
It was almost completely destroyed by World War II. It has been the subject of restoration and today it is a very suggestive place, also used for events and weddings.
