The church dates from the 13th century. The west tower has been preserved to this day. It rises about 30 meters high, is about 30 meters long and 15 meters wide.
In addition to three heavy bells that are used every day, the control room is also home to hawks and bats.
Below the massive tower is the nave, which was built in the German Empire. It was rebuilt in 1893 after the building burned down in the Thirty Years' War. The Altarmensa, however, has survived the times, it dates from 1676.
The Breitauer Church is an open church.

The evangelical parish church is visible from afar in a prominent position on the north-eastern edge of the town. The solid masonry church tower was built in the 13th century. The current nave in brick masonry dates from 1893. In that year and in 1981 it was renovated. The table top of the altar dates from 1676. The pulpit with late Renaissance ornaments is dated 1654. The variedly designed tombstones from the 18th and 19th centuries near the church are remarkable.
