The Wethtor (also called chapel gate) has been around since 1714. Today (and since 1999) it houses the Red Cross Museum. The coat of arms of Prince-Bishop Philipp von Greifenclau is also on the vivid half-timbered structure above the archway. A nice piece of history.

In the north-east of the city is the Kapellentor or Wethtor, also known as the Goßmannsdorfer Tor. It is at the end of the main street and looks out onto the Ringstraße and Eichelsdorferstraße on the field side. The gate was built in 1714. Since 1999, the upper floor has been the Red Cross Museum. On the field side, above the gate passage, we can see the full coat of arms of the Würzburg prince-bishop Johann Philipp von Greiffenclau-Vollraths (1699-1719).

Although three gatehouses narrow the access roads, they are not towering, defensive towers. The Bad- or Lendershäuser Tor, the Weth- or Großmannsdorfer Tor, and the Obertor were probably no longer intended for defensive purposes when they were built in the second decade of the 18th century, but rather as customs and inspection posts.
