The artwork "Fuck Double Morality" by Danish sculptor Jens Galschiøt was installed here by the prominent Carlsberg Foundation. The foundation has its headquarters around the corner. The artist joins the neighbors' protest (to which the foundation belongs) against the parking garage that has been planned here for a good 10 years. More parking spaces in the city center simply create more cars. That's a good guess. But the truth is that the brewer Carl Jakobsen had this square created a good 100 years ago, together with the Glyptotek art museum across the street. In addition to the protest in favor of more ecological mobility, the "Not in my backyard" policy certainly plays a role here. After all, "Carlsberg Fond" is not just anyone, and its voice is so important that its voice cannot simply be ignored. It's not just what is said that matters, but also who is expressing it...
So let's enjoy Galschiøt's "artificial" middle finger while it remains there.
