    This stone circular area of benches and flower pots was part of a large children's recreation center with a spacious park from 1915 to 1972. After its demolition in 1972, a hotel was planned here, but this ultimately did not happen. Today, this is a "lost place" with some ruins (below the circular area) and other remnants.

          "The 'Pfälzisches Ferienheim Association' opened a children's holiday home in 1915 and operated it, with interruptions, until 1972. The initiator was the wife of the Royal Bavarian Governor of the Palatinate, Wilhelmine von Neuffer (1851–1931)."
          In 1937, the "Pfälzisches Ferienheim Association" was expropriated by the Nazis. The children's holiday homes it operated, Schafhof (for girls) and Speyerbrunn (for boys), were transferred to the National Socialist People's Welfare (NSV).
          "From 1946: The Hesse-Palatinate Police Academy (until 1948) and the Palatinate Motorized Gendarmerie, known as the 'White Mice,' (until around 1951) were stationed at the Schafhof.
          From 1949 onward, the Schafhof was expanded, particularly to house [expellees]. In the 1960s, the building area was expanded, and even a school was planned. A concept for a holiday village, developed in the 1970s and 1980s, was only partially realized."
