Piazza Vittoria is the main square of the city, formerly known as "Platea Magna", large square.
Almost completely surrounded by arcades from the fourteenth century, it is bordered by the ancient Palazzo del Broletto and the noble Gothic palace "dei Diversi". This is the meeting point of the city, on Wednesday and Friday the young people meet here.

On the south side, towards the Duomo, stands the Broletto, the 12th century former town hall; behind one of the windows of the old building watches over the beloved statue of the Madonna di Piazza Grande (1604)
