In the old mining area in the Lichtengraben there is the so-called gold hole, a cave at least largely created by nature. However, the activities of medieval and early modern miners left clear traces. The gold mines in the Lichtengraben are said to have been extraordinarily productive centuries ago. Towards the end of the 16th and beginning of the 17th century, however, the gold blessing was largely exhausted.

Over the course of time, the gold hole has repeatedly served as a shelter and retreat for people in emergencies. Just a few decades ago there lived a woman who shared her unusual dwelling with a cow, goat and pigs. Knowing the mysteries of nature, the hermit was widely known.
