There are several legends about the Drakenhöhle. Apparently Siegfried is said to have defeated the dragon Fafnir here and then bathed in his blood. Whether that actually happened here in Marsberg remains to be seen - there are several caves in Germany that lay claim to this story. Anyway, maybe another dragon has just guarded a valuable treasure here. ;)

According to legend, there is a hidden treasure in the Drakenhöhlen: a gold chain so long that you can wrap it around the Stiftsberg three times.

Supposedly, Irminsul treasures are still buried in the widely branched passages, which are said to reach under the former Eresburg - today's collegiate church. The Zechstein caves are of natural origin, however, were made by human hands

expanded, two springs rise in a cave, which used to ensure the drinking water supply of Obermarsberg.

The big cave has a length of 62 m, small cave I=15 m, II with source=68 m, III=45 m, IV=25 m, V=22 m, VI= 7.00 m"
